This week’s RootsWorld magazine features a review of the Kantervo album by Andrew Cronshaw.

The article also includes a review of a kantele & Hardanger fiddle album, Talende Strenger, by Ragnhild Knudsen & Pauliina Syrjälä.

Andrew Cronshaw is a British multi-instrumentalist and world music journalist with a long and distinguished career. On his twelfth album, Zithers, one of the instruments he plays is the marovantele: the 44-stringed double-sided kantele of his own devising.

Cronshaw’s extensive knowledge of the history and current situation of kantele instruments is evident in this analytical and informative RootsWorld article.
