The Kanteletupa project will continue with the three-day workshop held next summer.

A workshop exploring creative small kantele music will be held at the beautiful Kallio-Kuninkala in Järvenpää, June 12–14, 2023.

The workshop is aimed at adults who want to delve deeper into creative music-making with small kanteles. You can participate even if you haven’t played before. The workshop is part of the research carried out in the Folk Music Department of the Sibelius Academy, Uniarts Helsinki. The workshop is led by Arja Kastinen.

A maximum of 10 people will be admitted to the workshop in order of registration.

The “Metsä-Kuninkala” has been booked as accommodation for the workshop.

The price of the workshop, €141/person, includes meals (breakfast, lunch, afternoon coffee, dinner, and evening snack) and accommodation (in 1-2 person rooms). For the students of the Sibelius Academy, the cost is 82,50 €.

Lessons are free, as they are included in the research project. During the days, participants in the workshop will also be interviewed about the process of producing music.

The workshop starts with lunch on Monday 12.6. at noon and we will finish the course on Wednesday 14.6. at 3 pm with afternoon coffee.
